UK’s first LGBTQ+ electronic music and camping festival, Flesh, to launch this year

News

The first LGBTQ+ electronic music and camping festival will launch in the UK this year.

London’s Flesh Queer Festival will take place on 28th and 29th May 2022 at Springfield Farm in St Albans. The bank holiday event welcomes LGBTQ+ individuals, their friends and allies. The full programme for the two-day event, which you can see below, features artists including Chippy Nonstop, Jaguar, SPFDJ, Juliana Huxtable, object blue, LSDXOXO, VTSS and Rebekah.

Riposte London will also be hosting a sober tent, which will be a relaxed environment where individuals can take part in workshops, attend panels, socialise and unwind.

A press statement from Flesh read, “The festival addresses long-term issues in festival programming, which is dominated by cis-male straight artists, breaking the cycle and allowing emerging and underrepresented talent to break through on a worldwide platform.”

Flesh have also launched an open call for emerging QTIPOC artists to apply for two scholarships for the London Sound Academy and ongoing mentorship. Winners will have the opportunity to perform at the festival in May. The deadline for entrants is 3rd February 2022. You can apply here.

You can also revisit our feature on the LGBTQ+ club nights fighting for diversity in drum & bass.
