Top Boy's next season will be its last, creators confirm

The next series of Top Boy will be its last, Netflix has confirmed.

The news was revealed following the arrival of the show’s second Netflix season, and fourth overall following two runs on Channel 4, last month. Filming for the final season is set to begin this summer, and there is not yet an official date for when it might hit Netflix.

The tagline for the final run of the show is: “Every Top Boy has their time… that time is coming.” You can see Netflix’s announcement below.

Channel 4 aired the first season of Top Boy in 2011, before it returned for a second season in 2013. The UK TV network, however, decided not to renew it for a third run. Netflix later revealed, in 2017, that it was picking up the show, and the third season arrived on Netflix in 2019, before the latest one hit Netflix screens last month.

The most recent season of the show saw Kano, Ashley Walters, Michael Ward, Little Simz and lots more reprise their roles from the show’s previous run. It also included music by the likes of Pa Salieu, Unknown T, Burna Boy and Jorja Smith, among others.
