Tomorrowland announces two-day CORE stage festival in Colombia

Tomorrowland has announced that its new CORE stage will be featured at a two-day festival in Medellín, Colombia, later this year.

Collaborating with the Colombia-based Breakfast Club, the festival is scheduled for 11th and 12th May, and is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees to the tropical botanical gardens, Jardín Botánico de Medellín.

The new stage, slated to “pop up around the globe” at various Tomorrowland events, was unveiled last weekend in Mexico.

Designed by the festival’s in-house creative team, the CORE stage underwent over a year of meticulous planning before making its world premiere at the second edition of CORE Tulum last Saturday, 13th January.

The inception of the CORE stage began as an ambitious 3D design concept that initially seemed nearly impossible to materialise. A spokesperson for CORE explained to DJ Mag’s Olivia Stock: “After its initial showcase at Tomorrowland’s digital festival, the festival’s creative team was unwavering in their commitment to bringing the stage to life. They turned the wildest dreams into tangible reality.”

CORE’s inaugural outing, which featured performances from Boys Noize, Disclosure, and more, was “completely integrated into Tulum’s jungle scenery”, featuring a rocky structure and an array of natural and water elements. Standing at 17 meters high and 30 meters wide, the stage features a total of 209 moving lights, numerous water geysers, LED flares, fog machines, and more.

The CORE stage has been officially confirmed to grace Tomorrowland’s flagship Belgian festival in 2024. Further details on additional locations are anticipated in the coming months.

“There are currently a lot of plans to bring the new CORE stage to different continents and countries around the world, with a focus on unique locations that are integrated into nature,” the spokesperson continued.

Late last year, Tomorrowland also introduced an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) exhibition named ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ in Barcelona. Set within the Aribau Immersive Space in the city, the exhibition provided visitors with a one-hour immersive experience centred around the festival and its enchanting fantasy themes.

Pre-sale tickets for the two-day CORE stage festival in Medellín will drop on February 6th at 10:00 EST, lasting for 72 hours.

You can sign up for the pre-sale and find more information about the event here.
