There’s a new club, Glam, opening in London next month

News

London is getting a new club, called Glam.

Due to open next month, the venue is based in Shoreditch, in the building that used to house the Aquarium club. Promising high-end design and eye-opening decor, which you can preview via the image above, the club’s programming will mostly focus on house music.

Among the artists already lined up to DJ at Glam this summer are Armand Van Helden, Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, David Morales, Dave Lee, Moodena, Michael Gray, Jeremy Healy, Brandon Block and Allister Whitehead.

Glam is the brainchild of friends Paul Nelson and Carl McCormick, the former of which was one of the first people to get a legal rave license in the UK for his infamous Raindance events in the ’90s. Both were involved in founding Aquarium when it first opened in 1995.

“I cut my teeth at the always beautifully designed and luxuriant Renaissance with its world-class DJs, and I’m not gonna lie, it’s a huge inspiration for what we are doing with Glam,” McCormick says. “The club is just what everyone needs right now – something that’s high-end, super special in every way, but never too stuffy or elitist. We’re proudly going against the grain and redefining the glossy glam of the ’90s with a contemporary soundtrack.”

News of Glam’s opening follows on from the revelation last month that Pacha is planning to open a new club in London.
