The Weeknd teases new album with cryptic video

The Weeknd has teased a new album with a cryptic video posted to Instagram.

Posted with a quote from Friedriech Nietzsche — “when you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you” — if previous interviews are to be believed, the record could be the last under Abel Tesfaye’s The Weeknd moniker.

While little else is known about the forthcoming release, it will complete a trilogy of work that so far includes ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM‘. Meanwhile, rumours also abound about a potential collaboration with Skrillex appearing on the LP.

The US star is said to have influences the preceding record, and The Weeknd has previously worked with major EDM and dance music names, such as Swedish House Mafia and Justice. However, last year, he even went as far as to suggest he would not do any more features with other artists “unless Daft Punk get back together“.
