The Haçienda has been recreated in VR.

Opening in 1982, the infamous Manchester nightclub is considered by many as playing a crucial part in the rise of acid house. Ultimately closing its doors in 1997, the legacy of The Haçienda lives on, and has now been recreated in VR for the first time.

Taken from the original club drawings from designer Ben Kelly, The Haçienda is being designed to open as a virtual nightclub. The virtual club’s official Facebook page states that the immersive replica will soon be made available as an app to download to your phone in which you will be able to freely explore, meet up with friends and attend events.

As well as the original bars, balcony and lighting & audio fixtures, The Haçienda’s DJ booth has also been recreated in its entirety. Check out some images of the forthcoming app below.
