The Chemical Brothers cancel Glastonbury set due to Covid-19

The Chemical Brothers have cancelled their Glastonbury set due to Covid-19.

Having only announced the set earlier this week, after days rumours, the duo were scheduled to DJ at the Arcadia stage from 11 PM – 1 AM tonight (24th June). Cancelling the set today, they tweeted: “We are very sorry to announce that we won’t be DJing at Arcadia this evening at Glastonbury”.

They were due to join the previously announced line-up on the immense Arcadia spider stage, which features the likes Four Tet, DJ EZ, Calvin Harris, Nia Archives, TSHA, Jon Hopkins and Carl Cox b2b Chase & Status.

They have also been forced to re-schedule their Musgrave Park show in Cork, Ireland due to members of the “crew and band” testing positive for Covid. They are slated to play a show at York’s Castle Howard this Sunday, and wrote on Instagram that they are “hoping that Tom will recover in time to play”. 

Their DJ set would have arrived three years after the pair headlined the Other Stage at the annual Somerset festival. 

In other Chemical Brothers news, they recently shared a previously unreleased track from their archive, ‘Cylinders’. It’s the fourth of five unreleased tracks that will appear on the special 25th-anniversary edition of their album, ‘Dig Your Own Hole’.
