Surusinghe launches new party series and blog, Drifting

Surusinghe has started up a new party series and blog called Drifting.

The Naarm-born, London-based artist has teamed up with London-based music manager and best friend Cali to launch the club nights and Substack, which will publish regular playlists and artist interviews. London-based creative Shezaana Sadikeen will be handling Drifting’s visuals an graphic design.

The first event was this past weekend, 30th November, at Ormside Projects with Surusinghe, Mun Sing, Simo Cell and Sarra Wild, in collaboration with Tropical Waste.

“The music scene is in a weird place at the moment”, Surusinghe said in a press statement. “Promoters are struggling, producers are struggling and, let’s be frank, people are becoming lazy as fuck when it comes to digging for new music. We hope with Drifting that we’ll be able to create a small community that cares about music culture and keeping our scene alive.”

Back in January, Surusinghe featured on TraTraTrax’s ‘no pare, sigue sigue 2’ compilation alongside 3Phaz, Doctor Jeep, Nyksan and more. AD 93 released her ‘Brake Fluid‘ EP in 2023.
