Spatial audio festival, Polygon Live, announces full line-up and set times

New spatial audio festival, Polygon Live, has announced its full line-up and set times.

Debuting in London this weekend (2nd-4th May), the full line-up includes headline appearances from Max Cooper, Kiasmos and Tinariwen. Elsewhere on the programme, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Jon Hopkins, Nitin Sawnhey, Âme (DJ), and Red Axes all feature.

Taking place at Crystal Palace Park, the festival will use a dual-dome stage design, with 100 speakers installed across each LED-lit dome. The system includes 12 L-Acoustics speaker arrays surrounding the audience; a sub-wall; and four overhead arrays.

“Originally, our deployment of spatial audio emerged from the live sets of electronic music,” Polygon CEO Nico Elliott explained when the festival was announced last year. “Live DJs use a number of sounds, textures, frequencies and rhythms, which helped to push our understanding of what’s possible in spatial audio.

“At Polygon Live LDN, our programming has evolved. Working in partnership with renowned curators OpenLab, we’ve brought together an incredible line-up of visionary artists spanning electronic, world, jazz and experimental music to showcase their work in our 360° environment.”
