Southbank Centre announces KMRU, John Glacier, Âme, more for Purcell Sessions autumn programme

London’s Southbank Centre has revealed the programme for its upcoming Purcell Sessions this autumn.

The contemporary culture series highlighting a wide-ranging of artforms including music, live performance, visual art, literature and spoken word has invited John Glacier, Kali Malone, Lucinda Chua, First Terrace Records and Chesaba for its autumn season, beginning 3rd September.

There will also be multiple collaborative performances with the London Contemporary Orchestra with the likes of KMRU, Sote, Charles Hayward and TEEBS. The music programme rounds out with a joint multi-artform piece called ‘Fathom’ by Âme, violist Lawrence Power and filmmaker Jessie Rodger.

Poet Yomi Ṣode will adapt his debut collection ‘Manorism’, featuring music by Melo-Zed, for the stage in a new commission by Southbank, and writer Jay Bernard will present a new performance piece on the concept of joint enterprise.

Southbank Centre’s artistic director Mark Ball says the Purcell Sessions “underscore our support of international and local artists by providing a space for them to take risks, challenge artistic norms and build connections across artforms.”
