Skrillex cancels shows due to work on new albums
Skrillex has been forced to cancel some upcoming shows in order to concentrate on his new albums.
“Over the past few months I’ve been working very hard on finishing my albums and haven’t had enough time to prepare for the upcoming shows,” wrote the American DJ and producer on Instagram. He announced that he has had to pull out of the Detroit Movement and Tampa Sunset music festivals.
Detroit’s legendary techno event is due to take place across Memorial Day Weekend, 28th to 30th May 2022, inside Hart Plaza at downtown Detroit’s riverfront. Tampa Sunset is happening from 27th to 29th May.
“I hope you can all understand that this was a very difficult decision for me to make but I’ll be back soon with the show you all deserve,” he continued.
Last March, the US DJ and producer confirmed he will release new music “soon”, following the release of Ableton production ‘Kliptown Empyrean’ via Soundcloud the previous year.
Last year, Skrillex teamed up with Justin Bieber and rapper Don Toliver for the collaborative track ‘Don’t Go’, which followed a string of other production projects with the likes of J Balvin, Four Tet and 100 Gecs’ Dylan Brady.
