Skibadee’s daughter launches GoFundMe to support family after MC’s passing

Asia Wride, daughter of the late jungle and drum & bass legend MC Skibadee, has launched a GoFundMe to support her family following his passing in February.

“My dad, MC Skibadee, passed away on February 27th 2022,” wrote Wride on the GoFundMe page. “As his firstborn it has fallen to me to help our family with the unexpected loss of my dad. If you can help to take the pressure off during this time it would be much appreciated.”

She continued: “My dad was truly a one of a kind person and If you had the privilege of knowing him, his music and everything he was, your were blessed like me.”

Donate via the GoFundMe page here. The campaign has so far raised £15,755 raised of its £50,000 goal.

Born in South London in 1975, Skibadee, real name Alfonso Bondzie, rose to prominence as one of the standout voices on the UK’s jungle, drum & bass and rave scenes mid-’90s through to the next decade.

Having collaborated with artists including Shy FX, Dillinja and Teebone, he had recently toured as part of drum & bass group SASASAS, which also includes Shabba D, Harry Shotta, Stormin, DJ Phantasy and Macky Gee among its ranks.
