SHERELLE surprise releases debut album, ‘WITH A VENGEANCE’: Listen

SHERELLE has surprise released her debut album.

Out now via Method 808, ‘WITH A VENGEANCE’ (or ‘WAV’ for short) was recorded between Amsterdam and London last year and is steered by the lead single ‘FREAKY (JUST MY TYPE)’, which features vocals from experimental R&B artist George Riley. Check it out below.

Buzzing with the high-speed energy that is SHERELLE’S signature, the album is described in a press statement as “a rally cry for the 160 scene, designed to push the tempo in new, exciting and as yet undiscovered directions”. It was written as a cathartic response to negative feelings of anger and betrayal, which the UK producer turned into a collection of “hard and fast club tracks”.

“Behind the scenes, I’ve had a tough few years but finally feel like I’m in a good place mentally and personally thanks to this album and all the lovely people around me,” SHERELLE said. “WAV has been my soundboard of last year and I hope that people can feel the raw energy that comes from this album.”

“When I first made the ‘FREAKY’ instrumental, I was extremely confused but knew there was something different about this song,” she added of the single. “I’m super grateful to George as once I played it to her, she gave me the belief that the instrumental was strong enough to make a banger. It took her 15 minutes to change my mind about the track.

She continued: “I’ve never had so much fun in a session before! We only had an hour with each other but it’s turned into a beautiful lifelong memory between friends and we now have a beautiful song out of it. Forever grateful for her support throughout making it and adding the much-needed touch to this song.”

SHERELLE recently completed an “inflation busting” UK tour where every event was capped at £10 entry. This is the second such tour SHERELLE has done with the first taking place early last year.

In November, she released the track ‘MEET ME AT THE TEMPLE’ in collaboration with CLIPZ.
