Sade are working on new music in the studio
Sade and her eponymous band are back in the studio, according to a new report in Billboard.
Producer and engineer Damien Quintard, who co-runs the renovated Miraval Studios in Corren, France, confirmed to the magazine that Sade have been working on new music.
Quintard noted that they were the first group to use the newly rebuilt facilities. “You could feel the love that she and the band had for this place,” Quintard told Billboard about Sade’s time in the studio.
Nothing else is revealed about Sade’s work. The story focuses on the history of the provincial property and renovation process by Quintard and Miraval Studios partner Brad Pitt, who owns half of the Château Miraval winery and estate. Pitt’s former wife Angelina Jolie sold her half of the company to Tenute del Mondo as their divorce battle continues in court. Last week, the New York Times reported that Jolie detailed Pitt’s alleged physical and emotional abuse of her and their children.
Sade last released new music in 2018 as part of the soundtracks for two films: ‘Flower of the Universe’ for Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time, and ‘The Big Unknown’ for Steve McQueen’s Widows. In 2020, Sony released remastered versions of the six Sade albums as a vinyl box set.
