Run-DMC to release limited edition vinyl artwork as NFT

News

Run-DMC are getting involved in the NFT game, with plans to mint limited edition vinyl artwork from their double-disc compilation with the 12on12 label.

Only 500 hand-numbered editions of the vinyl are available from 12on12, with the tracklist featuring songs that inspired the group’s music. The NFT artwork, meanwhile, is designed by Los Angeles-based artist Reena Tolentino and is available in 12 different variations here. They are currently valued at £66,388.40 each, and you can view one of the artwork variations below.

The group have released the compilation and NFT to coincide with the 35th anniversary of their album ‘Raising Hell’, while they’re also paying tribute to the late Jam Master Jay, who was shot dead at a recording studio in Queens, New York City on October 30th, 2002.

As well as their own ‘Rock Box’, Run-DMC’s ’12on12′ compilation features tracks by Kraftwerk, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Chic, Aerosmith, and more.

Run-DMC last year teamed up with Public Enemy and Beastie Boys to release a single, ‘Public Enemy Number Won’.
