Róisín Murphy shares DJ Koze-produced new single, ‘CooCool’, on Ninja Tune: Listen

Róisín Murphy has shared her first new music since 2021, a DJ Koze-produced single called ‘CooCool’.

The track has been released to mark Murphy’s signing to Ninja Tune and it comes ahead of her sold-out headline gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 11th May. 

Speaking about ‘CooCool’, Murphy said: “Ostensibly a fragile little flower yet it has great hidden strength at the roots. There’s classic virtuosity and a lightness of touch, while DJ Koze’s hyper-modern production makes it bounce and glide. It’s a stupidly romantic little love poem.

“Everything in this song is true and playful. Can we fall in love and retain our sense of humour? ‘Embrace your inner child!’ Timeless, ageless, unavoidable love.”

More music made by Murphy together with DJ Koze is tipped for release later this year, but for now, you can listen to ‘CooCool’ below.

Last year, Murphy made her acting debut in Netflix fantasy series ‘The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself’. She also launched a charity T-shirt collection in collaboration with Manchester queer club event Homobloc.
