Robert Pattinson made “ambient electronic music” while in Batman costume

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he made “ambient electronic music” while in costume during filming for the forthcoming film The Batman.

Pattinson plays the titular superhero in the new Matt Reeves-directed movie, which hits cinemas on 4th March, and in a new interview with GQ, he’s spoken of the “insular” nature of the film shoot, which he described as a “bubble within a bubble” just outside London.

Speaking to GQ, he said: “The nature of the shoot was so kind of insular, always shooting at night, just really dark all the time, and I felt very much alone. Even just being in the suit all the time. You’re not really allowed out of the studio with the suit on, so I barely knew what was going on at all outside.”

Having been given a “little tent” to the side of the shoot to “go to decompress,” Pattinson said: “I’d be in the tent just making ambient electronic music in the suit, looking over the cowl [the mask]. There’s something about the construction of the cowl that makes it very difficult to read books, so you have to kind of almost lean forward to see out of the cowl.”

Whether the world might get to hear any of that music is currently unknown, but you can watch a new trailer for the film below.

Last year, it emerged that London venue Printworks had been used to film scenes for the new film after the club’s interior was spotted in an early trailer for the movie.
