Red Rocks is set to open its doors to thousands of music fans in the coming months. 

The iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, which hosted 9,000-strong crowds for the likes of Above & Beyond, Alison Wonderland and Flume before the coronavirus pandemic, is set to open its doors at a reduced capacity for a program of summer concerts.

Announcing the news via Twitter, the Red Rocks team confirmed that the venue had recieved Colorado State approval to reopen with a crowd capacity of 2,500, and that line-up announcements would be coming “soon”.

“We’re so excited about the imminent return of live music to #RedRocksCO,” the team said, “and look forward to welcoming you back for a fantastic 80th anniversary summer.” 

Elsewhere in the U.S., New York City governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced that the city would begin to reopen venues with a number of precautions in place, including crowd numbers limited to 10%. Earlier this week, It was also revealed that a digital vaccine passport app had been made available to New Yorkers in a bid to speed-up the reopening process for business and venues in the state.
