Purity Ring have shared a cover of Alice DJ’s ‘Better Off Alone’.
Following the release of their third studio album, ‘Womb’, in April this year, Canadian electro duo Purity Ring have remade the 1998 eurodance hit, ‘Better Off Alone’, incorporating Judith Pronk’s vocals from the more recent version of track.
Teasing the remake of the track on social media, Purity Ring shared ‘Better Off Alone’ on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show, and in a statement said: “We have wanted to cover this song for years and it felt like it was time. It’s been an influence on how we write and feel music since the beginning, and so for all the ways that joy and longing move, the truth is out there.”
You can check out the cover from Purity Ring, which has been released alongside trippy, extraterrestrial visuals, below.
Earlier this year, Donna Summer’s 1997 hit ‘I Feel Love’ was re-imagined by Guy Lawrence, who makes up one half of house duo Disclosure, and British artist Sam Smith.
