Premiere: Yilan ‘Baraka Baile’

Premiere: Yilan ‘Baraka Baile’

Yilan will release a new EP, ‘Baraka Baile’, later this week on Leeds label LOFS. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.

Following his storming contribution to last summer’s Egregore Collective compilation, ‘Club Drums vol.3’, the Leeds-based producer returns with two new head-twisting club workouts landing tomorrow (31st October).

Freewheeling baile funk rhythms collide with weighty bass textures and snarling samples from Indonesian chants on the title cut – premiering below – which also caught the attention of one Mia Koden who dropped the track during her set at this year’s Draaimolen.

The futuristic rave energy continues to flow on the reverse, where Yilan coelesces strands of sci-fi-tuned techno, bass and baile funk into his latest sultry slammer, ‘Negative Orgones’, destined to catapult dancefloors into another dimension.

‘Baraka Baile’ follows a parade of singles in recent years for forward-thinking labels including Infinite Machine, Jelly Bean Farm, Circular Jaw and Listening Sessions.

The Leeds heavyweight also runs ambient/drone label, Earth Movement alongside Aloof, which is home to recent ground-shaking club experiments from Ship Sket, Renslink, Algea, Ebb and more, alongside his own excellent ‘Sunken Place’ EP.

‘Baraka Baile’ is out 31st October via LOFS. Pre-save the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.
