Premiere: Masha Mar ‘Cherry Cherry’

Masha Mar will release her second EP, ‘Cherry Cherry’, next month via SOS Music. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.

Four years since unveiling her debut single on the label’s flagship V/A compilation, ‘SOS MUSIC VOLUME 1’, the Serbia-born, LA-based DJ and producer returns to SOS Music (Sisters of Sound) with a slice of synth-drenched Italo-house inspired by Pedro Almodóvar’s black comedy, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

The first single from Masha’s incoming sophomore EP of the same name, ‘Cherry Cherry’ is dedicated to hopeless romantics the world over, winding through sparkling ’80s-inspired rave chords and hypnotic vocal incantations from fellow LA-based artist, Ah-Mer-Ah-Su, before releasing itself with a raucous 808 breakdown recorded during her recent live Beatport Studio Jam session.

The four-track EP – out digitally on 29th March – lands on the heels of releases for Night Prism and Dusk Recordings, as well as LP Giobbi’s FEMME HOUSE label. When she’s not concocting Italo magic in the studio, Masha works as a promoter for some of LA’s hottest underground events, most recently co-creating the open-air party series Take It Outside, which featured guests including DJ HarveyHoney DijonDJ Minx, and Anz.

Since launching in 2020 as part of a partnership between !K7 and DUBLAB, Maddy Maia and Tottie’s SOS Music label has nurtured an electrifying roster of female and female-identifying talent, with recent releases coming from the likes of Matisa, Baby T, Yazzus, Closet Yi, Aura T-09, and many more.

‘Cherry Cherry’ is out 29th March. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.
