Premiere: Kessler ‘The Roots, The Truth’

Amity are gearing up to release a new V/A compilation, ‘RICOCHET’. Have an exclusive first listen to Kessler’s contribution, ‘The Roots, The Truth’ below.

On their first release of 2025, the Bristol-based label and collective deliver a bumper showcase of underground bass sounds, from low-end curveballs and dubwise steppers through to burly percussive mutations. Featured artists on ‘RICOCHET’ include Amity crew members Elpac and Mulholland, alongside Honeydrip, VVS1, Beaabea, Aaliyah Salem, Kessler, Dom Carlo and Eyra & Yeye.

On his contribution, Rotterdam-via-Belfast rave futurist Kessler serves up a jagged club weapon wrapped up with a distinctly Bristol touch, especially in the low end. Crafted from his signature palette of cosmic synths, crisp breaks and snarling bass, ‘The Roots, The Truth’ is described as “an homage to the late Lee Scratch Perry and every sound system around the world”, and is destined to send dancefloors into a spin cycle this summer.

‘RICOCHET’ is out 20th March on Amity. Pre-order the compilation here, and have an exclusive first listen to Kessler’s contribution, ‘The Roots, The Truth’ below.
