Premiere: Inspector Maal ‘Log Fire’

Inspector Maal will release a new EP, ’Namaste’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Log Fire’ below.

Following the release of his ‘Fractal Spectre’ EP for the label back in 2021, the Indian DJ and producer returns to Krunk Kulture with five transfixing cuts of deconstructed techno and breakbeat. Crafted up in the mountains of Kumaon, India, Inspector Maal’s releases are connected by their psychedelic rhythms, transportive soundscapes and kinetic sound design that invites listeners to “adventure into the depths of the unconscious mind.”

‘Namaste’ – out this Friday (26th July) – is the most all-encompassing realisation of his sound to date. From the hypnotic breaksy gallop and squelching textures of early singles ‘Riding Spotted Horses’ and ‘Seed’, to the big-room-ready rumble of ‘Log Fire’ – premiering below – it’s a release that encapsulates the adventurous spirit of the Indian electronic underground, as well as Inspector Maal’s own visionary approach to sound. Prepare to get introspective if you hear these cuts on the floor.

Since being created by the team behind India’s Krunk events during the pandemic, the Krunk Kulture imprint has blossomed into essential multi-genre outlet for South Asia’s most cutting-edge artists, including RafikiOX7GEN, Yuhina, Peach Blok and many more. ’Namaste’ is the latest addition to the label’s future-facing catalogue as they fast approach the thirty release milestone.

‘Namaste’ is out 26th July. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Log Fire’ below.
