Premiere: Hamdi ‘Counting (Sammy Virji Remix)’

Hamdi returns to Deadbeats today with the coveted ‘Counting Remix’ EP. Check out Sammy Virji’s remix below.

Out today (9th February), the remix package features four edits of Hamdi’s viral hit, ‘Counting’, from bass-music heavyweights Sammy Virji, Taiki Nulight, Simula and P Money.

Speaking on the EP, Hamdi shared: “Unbelievably excited to release this Remix EP – still in shock that we managed get all four of these artists on one pack! All artists I really look up to and they all smashed their remixes out the park – 2024 is going to be a very good year for UK music.”

Virji’s remix – a suitably wobbly, UKG masterclass  – arrives on the heels of his latest single, ‘Moonlight’, released last month, and the November banger ‘If U Need It’, which has already garnered almost 10 million streams. The Oxford-born producer continues to go from strength to strength, with a huge run of sets lined up across the UK in March, including at Sheffield’s Foundry alongside Oppidan & Ghoulish.

In December, the UKG heavyweight headlined DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards party in London, which also boasted sets from the likes of Ben HemsleyJaguarp-rallel, and Taylah Elaine throughout the night.
