Premiere: Dj Babatr ‘La Machina (Hodge Remix)’
Dj Babatr will release a new single, ‘La Machina’, next week alongside remixes from Hodge and Orieta Chrem. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘La Machina (Hodge Remix)’ below.
The project is set to land on Sacrilejio – a Peruvian label dedicated to exploring latin club and global club sounds – and draws on the deep well of influences encompassed within Raptor House. On the OG mix, genre founder and pioneer Dj Babatr serves up waves of propulsive drums and chest-rattling bass, capturing the energy of the Venezuelan street raves from which the sound erupted in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s.
Bristol-based DJ and producer Hodge is no stranger to percussive, bassy sounds – as exemplified by recent releases for TraTraTrax and Local Action – and keeps the energy high on his remix of ‘La Machina’. Expect warping rhythms, stomping tech beats and bass weight for days.
