Premiere: CARISTA & Lucas Tromer ‘Fractal’
CARISTA is set to unveil a new two-tracker with Lucas Tromer later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Fractal’ below.
Since gracing the cover of DJ Mag this time last year, the Dutch DJ, producer and label head has continued to raise the bar in every corner of her career, from shelling down DJ sets in Tokyo, Chicago, Brisbane and beyond, to her roaring contribution to Black Artist Database’s ‘Synergy Vol. 2’ compilation. Now, returning to her lauded United Identities label, CARISTA delivers her latest twisted techno thumper, crafted alongside UI regular, Lucas Tromer (aka Thrills in +41).
The release – landing tomorrow (8th April) – is equal parts swirling and storming, dispersing wavy modular synths above an explosive techno beat and snapping drums. The duo take things deeper and darker on the flip with a psyched-out ‘Freak Mix’, which has enough vivid, nocturnal energy and strobing grooves to have you levitating into the wee hours.
‘Fractal’ sets the stage for another year of trailblazing releases on United Identities, which CARISTA founded in 2017 to promote inclusivity and diversity in the club scene and shine a light on local Dutch artists. Recent mixes for the label have come from Zopelar, Pelanoir, Tundji. Kevin Lo and more.
Next month, CARISTA will be hosting a United Identities takeover at Leiden’s Wibar, featuring DJ sets from Kevin Lo, Lucas Tromer, Eileen, CARISTA herself, and more TBC. Tickets are on sale here.
‘Fractal’ drops on 8th April 2025 via United Identities. Pre-save the single here, and have an exclusive first listen below.
