Premiere: bullet tooth ‘IF I CAN’T BE YOURS’

bullet tooth will release a new EP, ‘IF I CAN’T BE YOURS’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.

Since bursting onto the scene last year, the faceless DJ and producer has been a simultaneous source of hype and intrigue; making his Parklife debut alongside rapper Capo Lee, collaborating on the unprecedented summer smash, ‘Keep It Rolling’, and finding fans in Floating Points, Laurent Garnier and Bicep along the way. Now, the enigmatic artist is back with a new EP on Crosstown Rebels, keeping the fire stoked with a pair of storming original transmissions plus remixes from heavyweights Enamour and SICARIA.

Out tomorrow (11th October), ‘IF I CAN’T BE YOURS’ artfully connects the dots between UKG, rap and rave, infusing his signature bassy garage production with strobing house textures for a truly hybridised sound. Surging layers of synth and ’90s-styled vocals surf over a strobing low-end on the killer title cut, whilst ‘YOU THINK YOU CAN FIX ME’ takes its shuffling garage beat into a new dimension with blissful pads and euphoric melodic flourishes.

“For this release I wanted to showcase a side to my music which I don’t feel I like I have shown yet,” he told DJ Mag. “With ‘IF I CAN’T BE YOURS’, I received the vocal from Meyy late last year and was immediately drawn to it. After just a couple listens to the acapella, I knew exactly what direction I wanted to take the record in and the tone of her voice along with the delivery suited it perfectly. I’m very proud of this release, and it’s an honour to be doing it with Crosstown Rebels.”

bullet tooth concluded his summer with a bang earlier this month, joining CR head honcho Damian Lazarus for his Hï Ibiza residency alongside Black Coffee. Check out the polymath’s full roster of upcoming shows, and pre-order the new EP here.

‘IF I CAN’T BE YOURS’ lands via Crosstown Rebels on 11th October 2024. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.
