Premiere: BADSISTA ‘PSYCODELIA’

BADSISTA is set to drop a new EP, ‘Cute Boyz’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘PSYCODELIA’ below.

The Brazilian DJ and producer continues to smudge the lines between baile funk, bass music and fast-paced techno on their fiery fourth EP, landing this Friday (22nd May). Spanning five ballistic club tools, ‘Cute Boyz’ follows BADSISTA’s 2023 EP for TraTraTrax, ‘GUETO CLUB’, and stretches his sound in even harder, faster and more invigorating directions. It’s packed full of percussive club acrobatics and high-impact rhythms, constructed from what BADSISTA described as a “great melting pot” of sounds and references.

“‘CUTEBOYZ’ is a statement following my own process of transformation,” the São Paulo-based artist shared. “Each track gives you a different way of thinking, but, at the same time, the final goal and feeling is the same.”

To mark the EP announcement, BADSISTA unveiled lead single ‘DOS HERMANOS’, which features fellow Brazilian trailblazer EVEHIVE. “It could only have been created by people who live here, who live what we live,” the artist explained.

BADSISTA also kicked off their Cute Boyz world tour earlier this month, featuring dates in Lyon, Brussels, Barcelona, Berlin and more throughout May. Remaining tickets are on sale here.

When they’re not in the studio or on the road, Andrade remains a principal player in São Paulo’s underground scene as part of Tormenta, a crew of politically outspoken young artists at the centre of a growing alliance of queer Latin American club artists, and co-founder of Bandida, a feminist DJ collective bringing women, LGBT folks and people of colour into the industry.

‘Cute Boyz’ lands 22nd May 2025. Pre-save the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘PSYCODELIA’ below.
