Nile Rodgers shares Daft Punk introduction story and ‘Get Lucky’ recording process in new video: Watch

Nile Rodgers has featured in a video recalling his Daft Punk introduction story and the recording process behind ‘Get Lucky’.

Speaking to Fender, the Chic legend remembered meeting the Parisian duo at the New York listening party for their now-classic 2001 album Discovery, shortly after his bandmate Bernard Edwards had passed away.

“They pulled me aside and said that they quietly dedicate this album to Bernard Edwards”, he said.

Rodgers went on to explain the origin story behind his blockbuster 2013 collaboration with Daft Punk, ‘Get Lucky’: “They explained the concept of the album to me; they wanna do a record as if the internet never existed”. Watch the interview at 11:18 in the video below.
