Nia Archives shares new single and video, ‘Bad Gyalz’: Watch

Nia Archives has shared her new single, ‘Bad Gyalz’. You can listen to it below.

Coming two months on from sharing a jungle remix of Jorja Smith’s ‘Little Things’, the London-based, Bradford-raised producer, DJ, and vocalist’s latest release comes accompanied by a video directed by Talia Beale. Check it out below.

Speaking about the song, Nia said: “I was on ma way to the studio with Clipz listening to Ranking Ann, who is one of my fave MCs — period. And then I was just thinking about tha fact that like whenever I go to one of my shows, it’s like 85% women age 18-25 which is so amazing! And they are all baddies, absolute junglists.

“So I wanted to make a song that represents that and tha women that come to ma raves. And that’s how Bad Gyalz was born!”

To celebrate the release, Nia has announced a “Bad Gyalz Day Party”. Taking place on Sunday, 6th August at 60 Dock Road, the one-off event will feature DJ sets from DJ Flight, PXSSY PALACE, Sim0ne, Izzy Bossy and more “welcoming galz, non-binary people and those from the LGTBQ community”.

The event is said to be born from “a place of love and inclusivity and the desire for positive change around safety in the scene”. Nia “wants everyone from marginalised backgrounds and communities to feel welcome and safe to enjoy the music at a rave”.

Beyond her reworking of ‘Little Things’, the release of ‘Bad Gyalz’ comes fresh off the back of her recent Yeah Yeah Yeahs-sampling solo single, ‘Off Wiv Ya Headz’, as well as a huge supporting slot for Beyoncé in London.
