New festival, Summer Of Love, to take place in Manchester this August

News

A new festival, Summer of Love, is set for an abandoned central Manchester building over the Bank Holiday weekend Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August. Romanian minimalists Raresh, Petre Inspirescu and Rhadoo are confirmed as headliners, and will play together under [A:RPIA:R].

The two-day party will run 11AM to 11PM. Promotion crew Animal Crossing are behind the sessions. The team, which formed in 2018, has previously held takeovers at Gottwood and Glastonbury festivals, and focuses on creating unique dance music experiences in unusual locations, such as derelict railway arches and abandoned car showrooms.

“This is our moment to reunite, rejoice and celebrate the reopening of the world we love and have missed so dearly,” a spokesperson for Animal Crossing said. “The Summer of Love Festival represents our freedom, our connection, our artistic expression in an environment that has been created bespoke for the two-day music, arts & mindful experience.”

Dyed Soundorom, Shonky b2b Traumer, Onur Ozer, Priku, and Cristi Cons b2b Vlad Caia are among the other visiting guests down to play. Meanwhile, homegrown UK highlights include Bobby O’Donnell and Annie Errez of Leeds’ Mint, Ethel, Josh Baker, MOTUS DJs, and Into The Woods.

A record fair hosted by Vinyl Pimp and Basement Wax will also feature, in addition to wellness elements and a food market. Presale tickets are available on 24th June, and general sale begins on 25th June.
