Michael Bibi encourages fans to join stem cell register at London One Life event with Anthony Nolan

Michael Bibi will use his One Life London party this weekend to encourage fans to join the stem cell transplant register.

The event, taking place this Saturday, 6th July at Finsbury Park, will see 45,000 people attend. Bibi has invited Anthony Nolan, a UK charity which matches donors with patients in need of transplants, to set up a stall there in an effort to raise awareness of the need for stem cell donors. Volunteers will ask 16-30-year-olds to join the register as research shows that younger donors lead to more successful outcomes for patients.

The DJ will also be selling One Life merchandise to raise money for the Royal Marsden hospital in London, where he received treatment last year after being diagnosed with a rare form of brain and spinal cancer, known as CNS Lymphoma.

In a statement, Bibi said: “Last summer I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and given just a 30% chance of survival. Advancements in medical treatments like stem cell transplants gave me a second chance at life and are crucial in battling these conditions.

“Together, our community can make a difference. That’s why Anthony Nolan staff and volunteers will be at my homecoming show, ready to sign people up to the stem cell register. Anthony Nolan is a charity dedicated to ensuring that everyone who needs a lifesaving stem cell transplant finds a match.

“So, if you’re coming down to celebrate life in Finsbury Park, make sure you visit the Anthony Nolan stand. By becoming part of the stem cell community, you could give the gift of life.”

Bibi revealed he was officially cancer-free last December, and returned to playing some select shows towards the end of 2023. This weekend’s show marks his biggest since recovering from the condition.

Earlier this year, he revealed his full return to gigging with the One Life world tour.
