Massive Attack cancel US tour dates due to “unforeseen circumstances”

Massive Attack have cancelled a series of upcoming US shows, they announced on social media on Friday, 11th October.

They had been due to perform a series of four shows across the United States, their first in the country since the ‘Mezzanine XXI’ tour five years ago.

The group made the announcement via their official Instagram, writing: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Massive Attack must regrettably cancel their upcoming performance at III Points Festival in Miami FL on October 19th, as well as their shows in Atlanta GA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and Forest Hills NY. We appreciate your understanding at the time.”

The live shows were to follow their show at Clifton Downs, their first UK show in five years, which took place 25th August. The concert, which was advertised as the “lowest carbon show of its size ever staged,” was presented in partnership with climate scientists and analysts from the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

Earlier this year, Robert Del Naja featured in a video online in which he reads a letter written by a doctor based in Gaza, as part of the Voices For Gaza initiative.
