Manami shares new EP, ‘Dreaming Still’: Listen

Manami has released a new six-track EP, ‘Dreaming Still’.

Marking the inaugural release on the Tokyo-born, London-based DJ and producer’s new label Virtual Myth Recordings (VMR), the EP explores breakbeat, drum & bass, sub-heavy basslines and euphoric melodies.

Speaking about the record, the former DJ Mag Artists To Watch said: “This EP is my attempt to hone in on my authentic self, a journey to finding and fulfilling creative freedom. It’s my debut work of introspective self-expression, being vulnerable and opening up myself deeply to compose these tracks. I felt a real sense of comfort in the writing process as I was able to reflect my artistic voice.

“The EP is based on an over-arching theme of two worlds/realities pushing and pulling against each other, with nowhere really feeling like home, until the final chord in ‘Breeze’. It is my first time properly exploring the sub-realms of my sound, something I’ve always felt intimidated by. Putting this EP together has been a liberating experience on many levels and I can’t wait to continue writing more.”

Earlier this year, DJ Mag premiered Manami’s collaboration with Demi Riquísimo, ‘Sugar Snap’.
