Manami launches label VMR with new single ‘Dreaming Still’: Listen

Manami has launched a new label, VMR (Virtual Myth Recordings). You can check out the first track to land on the imprint from the DJ and producer, ‘Dreaming Still’, below.

The single calls on a number of musical reference points, combining techno, electro, progressive house, breaks and bassline. Taken from a forthcoming EP of the same name, a release date for the six-tracker is yet to be announced.

“‘Dreaming Still’ is a consolidation of my past, present and future both creatively and personally. Where two worlds push and pull; where a dream-like state is intercepted by a distorted reality. A chase for life’s resolve but the resolve constantly pulling away,” Manami said of the release.

“The purpose of this label is to house my productions which don’t fit within the box of a standard genre-binding label, being able to tell the stories of the music in the way that I intend to, and to create worlds within each release,” she continued. “I want future artists on the label to harness this power, and for it be a home to share their stories too.”

Now based in London, Manami emerged from the Bristol scene around a decade ago, and has seen her reputation grow since. She appeared in DJ Mag’s Artists to Watch in 2023 list early last year, and in January dropped a collaboration with Demi Riquísimo, ‘Sugar Snap‘.
