Major Lazer unite 209 dancers around the world for ‘Lay Your Head On Me’ music video

Major Lazer have shared an uplifting video for their recent single with Marcus Mumford, ‘Lay Your Head On Me’ .
The video is directed by Filip Nilsson, who curated a cast of dancers and artists from around the world for a dance-led video, sharing the message to #StayHome and Dance #WithMe.
Featuring 209 dancers across 177 clips filmed in 28 countries, the video has been released in celebration of Earth Day, and a fundraising link appears on its YouTube page for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO.
The video was loosely choreographed by Ryan Heffington, who has previously done choreography for the likes of Sia, Florence & The Machine, FKA Twigs and Christine & The Queens. Nilsson’s message when contacting the participants was simple though: “Do your best, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Be yourself. We like you as you are.”
“When we started working with this simple idea over a month ago COVID-19 had just started to get a grip of the world,” Nilsson commented. “During these weeks we have seen tapes from people all over the world. The response was way more than could have been expected and it was amazing to see the different interpretations of what we requested from people. It’s so touching that all these people took the time to learn the dance routine or to play the music in such a short amount of time. The positivity and honest love they shared is something I really wanted to come through in this video.”

Above & Beyond released a similar project earlier this week, bringing together 70 frontline workers for an accompanying video for charity single, ‘We’re All In This Together’ (Above & Beyond Respray)’.
