Lucrecia Dalt shares new single, ‘cosa rara (ft. David Sylvian)’, on RVNG Intl.: Listen
Lucrecia Dalt is back with a new single ‘cosa rara’, featuring English artist David Sylvian, on RVNG Intl. Listen to the track below.
This is the first new music from the Berlin-based Colombian artist since her acclaimed 2022 album ‘¡Ay!‘, also released by the storied experimental New York label. Today’s single release will be followed by an EP of the same name on 28th February.
“This song originated from a drum loop that Alex Lazaro sent to me — like a secret agent of sound infiltrating my brain, every loop he makes feels like it’s got the DNA of the song embedded in its groove, and I just have to wait with a microphone in hand for the moment of fine-tuning to bust it all out”, Dalt wrote on Instagram. “As the first part of the track came together, I felt this wild urge to slow everything down to a sultry dub tempo, and that’s when David jumped in, adding his own unique flavor, textured voice, and guitars. The lyric paints an urban experience of the sublime, a deliciously lurid scene between two lovers, reveling in each other’s presence so fervently that they create a wild magnetic force field, attracting all sorts of delightful chaos around them. They disrupt the fabric of reality, with anomalies seeping in from the edges of perception.”
Dalt recently scored the Dev Patel-starring film Rabbit Trap, as well as the music featured within the story of the movie.
Last year, RVNG Intl. released the debut album from Black Decelerant, a collaborative project by Khari Lucas, aka Contour, and Omari Jazz.
