Swedish House Mafia have released a new single, ‘Wait So Long’. Listen to it below.
Initially teased last week when the trio shared a snippet of the song via social media, the cut marks the first new music from the group since last August, when they put out their Alicia Keys collaboration, ‘Finally’.
‘Wait So Long’ has been released via Swedish House Mafia’s own SUPERHUMAN label, which they founded in April and launched with the release of the Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello collaboration ‘No Enemies’. The new song from the trio “ushers in an exciting new 3.0 era for Swedish House Mafia,” according to a press release.
The single shoots for big festival stage domination, but also looks to soulful house, leading with the vocal line: “Why do you make me wait so long, so long for your love?”. They launched the track with an event in their hometown of Stockholm earlier this week. You can watch a clip from that show below.
It’s currently unknown whether the song marks the first teaser of a new album from Swedish House Mafia, whose last full-length project, ‘Paradise Again’, was released in 2022.
The group have been hinting for some time that a follow-up album was on the way. In July last year, during his set with Sebastian Ingrosso at Tomorrowland, Steve Angello introduced the SHM single ‘Ray Of Solar’ by saying: “This is coming on an album we’re dropping later this summer.”
The record didn’t materialise last year, with Angello revealing last November that the trio had scrapped a finished album.
