Originally aired yesterday (Monday, October 19th) the opening show of the four-episode series kicked off with the cartoon band’s founding vocalist and keyboardist 2-D, live from Kong Studios in West London.

As well as spinning tunes from their upcoming album, ‘Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez’, he was joined by London producer, songwriter, singer and drummer Georgia – who features on recent Gorillaz single ‘Aries’ – in the Chat Machine.

Featuring “personalised music selections, special guests, non-music discussions, and segments with Gorillaz co-founders Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett,” the series of one-hour shows will be presented by Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs in the coming weeks. Revisit episode one below.

Featuring the likes of Beck, Elton John, Kano, St. Vinent and Robert Smith, ‘Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez’ will be released on October 23rd.

Back in June, the Damon Albarn-fronted project shared a statement on systemic racism.
