Kendrick Lamar to headline Milan Summer Festival

Kendrick Lamar will headline Milan Summer Festival at Ippodromo SNAI San Siro, Milan, Italy, on Thursday 23rd June, with rumours spreading fast that the show may feature some long-awaited new music.

Talk of a follow up to the rapper’s landmark 2017 album, ‘DAMN’, has been circulating for some time, with Punch, president at the artist’s record label, Top Dawg Entertainment, hinting the wait was almost over in January 2021.  Last year, Lamar revealed that his new LP would be his final project with the imprint.

According to a number of reports, Milan Summer Festival, which Lamar’s show is part of, announced on its website this week that fans can expect fresh material from a new album to be performed at the date.

Last weekend, Lamar performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Mary J Blige, Eminem, and Dr. Dre, among others, but there was no sign of a new single as some had hoped.

Last month, it was emerged that Lamar was working with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone on a live-action comedy film.
