Joseph Capriati, Bedouin, more remix Rony Seikaly’s debut album, ‘Moonwalk’: Listen

Rony Seikaly has shared a number of remixes from his debut album, ‘Moonwalk’. Check some of them out below.

Following the release of his 26-track debut LP back in May, the Former NBA star has shared another package of reworked tracks featuring Italian DJ/producer Joseph Capriati, duo Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe, aka Bedouin, Flashmob, Paco Osuna and Matthias Tanzmann.

Speaking about the package of remixes, Seikaly said: “All the remixes on the Moonwalk album have been super special and are all from artists I admire. This third pack is no exception, it’s made up of versions by Bedouin, Davide Squillace, Flashmob and Joseph Capriati. We have decided to release a remix every week throughout September to give each artist a special spot.

“In September we start with Bedouin, great friends and amazing artists. I have always been fascinated by their style and by the unique approach they give to their productions. The track Mila is magnified with their organic vision of deep house, driving and seductive. Flashmob and Davide Squillace have delivered versions of the tracks Dreams and I’m Ok With Yesterday, respectively. What they each have done with their interpretation is remarkable.

“Flashmob has imprinted a depth of classic techno and has achieved a very hypnotic version. Davide has given an incredible twist to the original track and has made it his own completely, adding a lot of funk and groove. Joseph Capriati has always been a master when it comes to adding large doses of groove to his music and we simply had to end the package with his remix. In his rework of Nights Into Mornings, he imprints a very seductive darkness, a lot of groove and touches of minimalism focused on his particular techno style.”

“Speaking about his take on ‘Nights Into Mornings’, Capriati said: “It’s a big pleasure to support my dear friend Rony Seikaly with this project ‘Nights Into Mornings’, one of the tracks included in his album ‘Moonwalk’; I wanted to keep some of the melody of the original but made it in a groovy version. I played it around the world during the summer and in Ibiza, it certainly was one of the highlights of my sets.”

There’s also remixes from Andrea Oliva, Black Circle, and Davide Squillace, and are all available now via Seikaly’s own Stride Records.

Earlier this year, DJ Mag Ibiza caught up with Rony Seikaly to chat about his love for the White Isle, and his first trip there in 1988.
