Jeff Mills shares new Millsart EP, ‘Powerland’: Listen

Jeff Mills has just released a new EP under his Millsart alias. ‘Powerland’ features four new tracks that lean into the Detroit techno legend’s taste for jazz and experimental compositions. Listen to it below.

In a social media post about the release, Mills cited the relationship between the earth and the cosmos as inspiration for the EP, specifically “an engineered string of energy called the 37th Parallel”.

Mills has so far released two full-length albums this year. In March, he released ‘The Trip – Enter The Black Hole’, a nine-track “cosmic opera” which was accompanied by an immersive A/V show. Then, in July, he followed that up with ‘The Eye Witness’, which he described as “Broadway stuck in an elevator with NASA and Marvel Comics”.

The ‘Powerland’ EP is out now via his own Axis Records as the sixth part of the Axis Expressionist Series. Buy it here.
