Idris Elba drops new single, ‘Biggest’: Listen

Idris Elba has dropped a new single, ‘Biggest’. Check it out below.

The English actor and DJ, who has starred in shows such as The Wire and Luther, has branched out in the last few years, by releasing his own music, including ‘Fudge’ via his own 7Wallace imprint last year. He has also collaborated with the likes of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Australian indie group Lime Cordiale, as well as DJing at events including Coachella back in 2019.

Now, off the back of his ongoing residency at Hï Ibiza, Elba has released ‘Biggest’. Out via 7Wallace, the Moombahton-inspired track follows on the previously-released singles including ‘Body Shots’ and ‘Ashobi’, which saw the Hackney-born polymath collaborate with Sierra Leone artist Drizilik.

Released on 7th September, ‘Biggest’ was also used to soundtrack Apple’s launch film announcing the new iPhone 14.

A four-time Golden Globe Best Actor nominee, and one-time winner, Elba shot to fame as the character Stringer Bell in the gritty Baltimore-set crime series ‘The Wire’, subsequently played DCI John Luther in the hit BBC One show ‘Luther’, and was then cast as Nelson Mandela in the biographical flick ‘Mandela: The Long Walk Home’. Earlier this year, he revealed that he hoped to “lean away” from acting to focus on his electronic music career.

Back in 2020, Elba and Inner City teamed up with youth-led organisation Detroit Will Breathe for a powerful music video, ‘We All Move Together’.
