I. JORDAN has released their debut album, ‘I AM JORDAN’. Listen to it below.
Out today (Friday, 10th May) on Ninja Tune, the 12-track record features contributions from Sister Zo, TAAHLIAH and Felix Mufti. It was originally announced in February with the sharing of the track ‘Real Hot N Naughty’, while further singles ‘Close To You’ and ‘Round N Round’ have followed since.
Speaking about ‘I AM JORDAN’ when the LP was originally announced, the DJ and producer, real name Jordan Tek, said: “This album is about joy. It’s about my joy as a trans person, and trans joy generally, working with trans people, making all this fun music together.”
In a new post shared online today to celebrate the album’s release, the former DJ Mag cover star said: “The title of this album reflects a really important time in my life personally and as an artist. It’s of course deeply personal but it wouldn’t be what it is without the amazing collaborations and friendships that have developed because of it”
I. JORDAN will follow the release of the album with a summer of festival appearances, including sets at Boomtown, Pukkelpop and Field Day, with the latter event in London set to host their debut live performance.
