Honey Dijon collaborates with Etsy on new collection celebrating queer culture

Honey Dijon has launched a new collection of merchandise items on Etsy, with a focus on celebrating queer artists and artists of colour.

Dijon worked directly with women of colour and queer artists to curate the 20-piece collection, which includes accessories, homeware and prints. It’s said to be inspired by museum gift shops, with Dijon telling Billboard she wanted to create an “online bazaar”.

Speaking further about the collection, which draws on elements of queer culture from across the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, Dijon said she hoped the designs would inject joy into people’s lives following a difficult period, particularly surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I thought that it was really important to show up, and support and give life to these artists,” Dijon said of the queer artists that she collaborated with on the collection. “It’s really easy for artists like myself to get up here and talk about being advocates of these cultures. But I think it’s more important to show engagement and really support them.”

You can take a look at the full collection here.

Honey Dijon was recently confirmed to be playing this year’s edition of Homoelectric in Manchester, alongside the likes of India Jordan, Avalon Emerson and more.

She also featured alongside Arca and other artists in a LGBTQIA+-focused campaign by Calvin Klein earlier this year.
