Hï and Ushuaïa Ibiza cancel all events for May 2020 due to coronavirus
News
Ibiza clubs Hï and Ushuaïa have officially cancelled all scheduled parties for May 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement released today (21st April,) the clubs, which are both run by The Night League, confirmed that the first month of their party season would not go ahead as planned.
“As you all know, the situation with COVID-19 is making everyone navigate difficult times,” the statement reads. “Due to this we have made the decision to cancel all planned events at both Ushuaïa & Hï Ibiza in May. Whilst we continue to work hard we are taking advice from the government and all key sources in order to move forward as best we can.”
Anyone who had purchased tickets for May events in the clubs, which included a 24-hour opening party from 9th – 10th May, will be able to transfer their tickets onto future events. Full refunds will be made available through ticket agents, the statement claims.
After weeks of speculation surrounding Ibiza’s summer 2020 party season, and the inevitabile impact that COVID-19 would have on it, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Hï and Ushuaïa have made this announcement. IMS Ibiza, which was due to take place in March this year, was cancelled. Since, festivals and events around the world have faced cancellations and postponements as a result of the pandemic, including mega-festivals such as Ultra, Tomorrowland and Burning Man.
At the time of writing it is unknown whether Ibiza clubs, including Hï and Ushuaïa, will open their doors later in the summer.
