Hardwell returns to play Ultra Miami, announces new album and tour
Hardwell has returned to the stage after an almost four-year hiatus.
As rumoured last week, the Dutch DJ – real name Robbert van de Corput – made his long-awaited return with a surprise set on the main stage of Ultra Music Festival in Miami at the weekend. Closing this year’s festival, the performance was his first official show since October 2018. You can watch the set below.
The DJ has also announced a new world tour to coincide with the release of a new album, ‘Rebels Never Die’. Taking in Europe, Asia, North and South America, the 24-date tour kicks off in Israel in May. Check out the full dates below. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, 18th March and presale access is available here.
Dropping seven years after his debut album ‘United We Are’, the 14-track ‘Rebels Never Die’ will be released via his own Revealed Recordings. An official release date is to be confirmed. Three tracks from the release – its title track, ‘Broken Mirror’, ‘Into The Unknown’ – are available to pre-order now.
Hardwell announced the news via his Instagram page. “I am back. And now I’m gonna show you who I truly am,” he wrote. His comeback come five months after he teased a return to the live circuit with a surprise appearance at ADE in Amsterdam during a Revealed Recordings showcase.
In September last year, fans at a small party with Ran-D also spotted Hardwell on stage, igniting rumours of an impending comeback. Last year, his long-standing radio show, Hardwell On Air, wound up after ten years of broadcasts and 500 shows, with a new Revealed Recordings 24/7 YouTube livestream launched as a replacement. The same month he also released a retrospective compilation of his best work, ‘The Story of Hardwell’.
