Hard techno brand Verknipt plans Guinness World Record-breaking laser show for 2025 arena event
Hard techno promoter Verknipt wants to break the Guinness World Record for largest laser show in the world.
At the upcoming 40,000-capacity Verknipt ArenA rave on 19th July, the Dutch crew will set up 1,000 lasers throughout the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. That’s a significant increase on last year’s inaugural Verknipt ArenA event, which was fitted with 50 lasers. The current Guinness World Record was set at a Dubai event with 824 lasers.
The record-breaking attempt will be set for an 11:50 PM laser display. “The idea of programming 1,000 lasers still blows our minds – especially when last year’s 50 already felt unreal”, Verknipt ArenA organisers said in a press statement. “This has been months in the making, and we’re pulling out all the stops to deliver a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Set to play the 360° stage are Nico Moreno, Winson, XRTN and Karah, among others, plus back-to-back sets from Basswell and Onlynumbers, CARV and Holy Priest, Paul Elstak and Cynthia Spiering and more.
Earlier this month, Verknipt debuted its new platform Pulse for highlighting emerging artists and “cutting-edge” sounds in hard techno. The next Pulse event is planned for 7th September.
