gyrofield announces new EP on Objekt’s Kapsela, ‘Suspension of Belief’

gyrofield has a new EP on the way via Objekt’s Kapsela label.

Titled ‘Suspension of Belief’, the four-track record is the third release on the label and the first not to feature its founder. It was written between June and October 2024, and was inspired by a summer spent among nature.

The Utrecht-based producer describes the record as “a set of deeper, shapeshifting tracks, cross-pollinating ideas from house, free jazz and techno”, and follows previous releases for labels such as Metalheadz, FABRICLIVE and XL Recordings.

gyrofield, real name Kiani Li, expanded on the EP’s concept, saying: “‘Suspension of Belief’ is a play on the suspension of disbelief, the common convention for us to immerse ourselves in fictional worlds. In turn, the record’s title suggests the idea of immersing in the real world, an antifiction, facing reality.”

The full record is out on Friday, 13th June. Listen to lead track ‘Vegetation Grows Thicker’ below.

Objekt launched his Kapsela label last year with a reissue of his 2014 cut ‘Ganzfeld’ and a two-track EP, ‘Chicken Garaage’.
