Groove Armada’s classic ‘My Friend’ gets 21st anniversary remix by Logic1000: Listen

Logic1000 has released her remix of Groove Armada’s 2001 single ‘My Friend’.

The Sydney-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer – real name Samantha Poulter – has unveiled the track as part of the London duo’s 25th anniversary year.

Formed in London in 1996, the renowned dance act, AKA Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, are currently on the road as part of their final full live UK tour. Later this year, they will release a boxset, featuring brand new music alongside remixes including Logic1000’s reworking of ‘My Friend’.

“Remixing such a classic was an absolute honour,” said Poulter, who also released ‘Can’t Stop Thinking About’ last month. “I have such strong memories of the vocal in My Friend from way back, so it was really fun to recontextualise it into something Logic-esque”.

Listen to the remix below.

Originally released as the second single from Groove Armada’s third studio album, ‘Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub)’, ‘My Friend’ became an instant Ibiza classic.
